Jorie Emory is an artist, educator, and nonprofit professional who works at the intersection of art, environment, and community.
Working predominately in textiles and printmaking, Jorie is a weaver and natural dyer. Her work explores relationships in nature.
Jorie's research, creative, and professional interests are interdisciplinary art+ecology and social justice through critical public pedagogy. She currently works as Producer of the Wild & Scenic Film Festival in Nevada City, California. She holds a Ph.D. in Arts Administration, Education, and Policy from the Ohio State University, and occasionally teaches courses on nonprofit fundraising, research methods, and management. Jorie serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Surface Design Association and is a Board Member at the Wheelhouse Institute.
